The following User Flows were created using Visio Technical. They were the constant reference documents for programmers creating a Java Applet which would not allow the user to select an inappropriate or unavailable feature. The original Product Choice Structure required 30-40 days of intense study to produce and was a 60 page (wall size) document with every choice enumerated and traced to its logical conclusion. For ease of use, the document was compressed as shown here. Each document appears on a separate page. Visio documents are displayed as JPG files; Excel spreadsheets are displayed as Word documents. Product Choice Structure Feature Flow Structure The following spreadsheet is a data map that was used by programmers to trace the flow of information between the Mortgage Loan Processing System (MLPS) on the client's legacy system (AS400) and the online SQL database in development. Consultations with the client's system architects were invaluable in the document's production. The following spreadsheet is a data map used by the programmers to develop the logical and dependant elements in the Registration Form applet. It also indicates the variable names created by the information architect for the XML DTD. The following spreadsheet is the short list of variable names created for the XML DTD and used in the Product Book Rules. Product Book Variables spreadsheet The following text file contains the hand coded XML which was critical in the logical function of the Registration Form applet. This set of "rules" represents a 700 page looseleaf notebook that loan processors refer to for every loan that is approved or declined. The rules allow for a customized error message to appear when an unavailable or inappropriate choice is selcted. |
